Who is Bucky?

With over 30 years in the wine industry and an Advanced Sommelier Diploma from the Court of Master Sommeliers (earned in 2006), Michael "Bucky" Buckelew is the spirited curator behind the Hillside Wine Club. His 26 years as a sommelier at some of Southern Colorado’s most respected venues have honed his expertise in selecting exceptional wines and his ability to create memorable experiences for wine lovers.

Through decades of listening, teaching with humility, and ensuring warm, professional service, Bucky has cultivated a deep understanding of what makes a wine truly "good"—and, more importantly, what delights and excites those who drink it.

His extensive travels through legendary wine regions such as France, Italy, Spain, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Slovenia, Croatia, New Zealand, South Africa, California, and Oregon have enriched his perspective and passion for the craft. Bucky's selections are paired with compelling stories and a commitment to discovering bottles brimming with flavor, texture, and excitement.
